The Smart Crack Wall Repair System is a permanent, flexible crack repair. It will not leak even if there is foundation wall movement. It utilizes a high performance elastomeric sealant that will stretch up to 400%.
Foundation walls can have movement because of thermal expansion and contraction, frost heave, hydrostatic pressure, and sometimes structural movement. Epoxy and urethane injections do not have the flexibility to withstand these types of movement and can often times leak again.
The extreme flexibility of the Smart Crack repair will always allow it to remain sealed. It will permanently seal the crack and drain any hydrostatic pressure behind it to the Water Tunnel System or Dry-Up Baseboard system where it belongs.
The crack is repaired by first opening up the crack. A chipping hammer is used to create a v-shaped opening along the crack. The crack is then cleaned with water. Once dry, the elastomeric sealant is injected into the crack with a caulk gun. Lastly, the sealant is smoothed flush with a metal trowel. The crack is now sealed.
