Kozy Floor

The Kozy Floor is a Moisture Barrier and Insulator

Regardless of the type of waterproofing system installed in your basement, it is still prone to vapor transmission through the concrete floor. This is because the soil below the concrete floor is always damp, and the concrete floor is porous. The porous concrete floor allows for the transmission of water vapor from the damp soil to the top of the concrete floor. This will lead to mold, mildew, a damp floor and increased allergy symptoms.

To prevent this from happening, we recommend the Kozy Floor sub floor system. The Kozy Floor is installed directly on top of your concrete basement floor, and underneath your finished floor. The Kozy Floor traps air and moisture below your finished floor, helping to prevent mold and mildew, all while creating a heat barrier at the same time. This allows the floor to have a warm and Kozy feel similar to that of the floors in your upstairs living environment.

The Kozy Floor is only roughly 1” thick which allows for minimal headroom loss. Kozy Floor can also be finished with any desired flooring type. For best results install in conjunction with our Water Tunnel or Dry-Up Baseboard system.
